Originating from the University of Arkansas, these large, purple-red, seedless (some may have soft edible seeds present) grapes are successful across the US from the Pacific Northwest to the South.  The fruit is sweet and delicious; the vines have average vigor, solid disease resistance, and are highly productive. They thrive in USDA Zone 6-9.

  • Description: The 'Saturn' seedless grape (Vitis labrusca x vinifera) variety was released in 1987. It produces large, crisp, bright-red, egg-shaped berries on medium-large conical clusters.

  • Flavor and Texture: It is highly prized for its sweet, mild flavor and firm, meaty, vinifera-like texture.

  • Growing Conditions: The vines are described as precocious, moderately hardy (hardy in zones 5-8), and very productive. It performs best in hot growing seasons and thrives in full sun and well-drained soil.

  • Uses: It is suitable for eating fresh as a table grape and may also be processed into an acceptable blending wine. It also has good storage potential.
