Plant Care Guide

Caring for plants should feel rewarding, not overwhelming. Below are general care guidelines to help your plants transition successfully after arrival and thrive in their new environment. Because growing conditions vary by location, sunlight, soil, and watering practices, these are general recommendations to help you get started.

📦 First Steps After Delivery

💧 Watering Guidelines

Wait until plants show signs of new growth before fertilizing.

• Use a balanced fertilizer
• Follow label instructions
• Avoid over-fertilizing

Healthy soil and proper watering are more important than frequent fertilization.

Most plants prefer gradual exposure to sunlight after shipping.

• Start in partial shade
• Increase sun exposure over several days
• Avoid sudden full sun immediately after delivery

Plants shipped in boxes may need time to adjust to outdoor light levels.

🍂 Dormancy
🪴 When to Transplant
☀️ Sunlight Needs

It is normal for plants to show minor signs of stress after shipping, including:

• Slight leaf drop
• Temporary wilting
• Minor discoloration

Most plants recover quickly with proper care.

Plants can remain in their nursery containers for a period of time but will eventually benefit from transplanting.

• Choose well-draining soil
• Water thoroughly after transplanting
• Avoid fertilizing immediately
• Provide shade during the first few days

Transplanting during mild weather helps reduce stress.

Proper watering is one of the most important factors for plant success.

• Check soil moisture before watering
• Water deeply but less frequently
• Ensure good drainage
• Avoid letting plants sit in standing water

Overwatering is one of the most common causes of plant stress.

Some plants naturally enter dormancy depending on the season. This may include:

• Leaf drop
• Bare stems
• Slower growth

Dormancy is normal and does not indicate plant health issues.

1️⃣ Open your package as soon as possible

2️⃣ Inspect your plant and gently loosen any compacted soil

3️⃣ Water if the soil feels dry

4️⃣ Place your plant in a shaded, protected area for 1–2 days to acclimate

5️⃣ Avoid immediate transplanting unless necessary

Allowing plants time to adjust helps reduce transplant shock.
